Top MLM Companies in the USA: The Biggest U.S.-Based Players

The top MLM companies in USA are usually ranked by annual revenue, and the most-cited ranking is the Direct Selling News Global 100. Based on 2025 revenue, Amway leads the product-company list at $7.3 billion, with Herbalife second at $5 billion. Revenue shows scale, not what participants earn.

Key facts

  • Source for ranking: Direct Selling News (DSN) Global 100, based on 2025 revenue
  • #1 U.S. product company: Amway, $7.3B (DSN, 2026 list)
  • #2 U.S. product company: Herbalife, $5B (DSN, 2026 list)
  • U.S. industry size (DSA, 2025): $34.2B in retail sales, 5.2M direct sellers, 34.8M customers
  • Caveat: participation in the list is voluntary, so some private companies are missing

How the U.S. Rankings Work

Direct Selling News publishes its Global 100 each spring. A company qualifies by reporting more than $100 million in net sales revenue, certified by the company. Because reporting is voluntary, privately held firms that decline to share numbers do not appear, which is why a well-known brand can be absent from a ranking. The 2026 edition counted 59 companies from 16 countries with about $63 billion in combined revenue, and for the first time split the list into product-focused and service-focused companies.

That means any list of the top MLM companies in USA is really a list of the largest participating companies headquartered in the United States. Read the rankings as a snapshot, and pair them with our guide to the top 10 MLM companies of 2026 and the global view in top direct selling companies in the world.

American MLM Companies by Revenue: Product Sellers

Among U.S.-based product companies on DSN’s 2026 list, the largest by reported 2025 revenue are:

  • Amway: $7.3B
  • Herbalife: $5B
  • Nu Skin: $1.5B
  • USANA: $925M
  • LifeWave: $581M
  • Nature’s Sunshine: $480M
  • Hy Cite: $449M
  • OPTAVIA: $386M
  • Scentsy: $354M
  • Princess House: $289M
  • Plexus Worldwide: $284M
  • LifeVantage: $229M

These figures are company-reported company revenue, not distributor income. For company-level detail see our reviews of Melaleuca, 4Life and It Works!, and our explainer on what growth means in fastest growing MLM lists.

Service-Focused U.S. Direct Selling Companies

The 2026 list also ranks service companies, a category that has grown in the U.S. channel. The top entries are eXp Realty at $4.8 billion, Primerica at $3.3 billion and World Financial Group and Real Brokerage at $2 billion each. These businesses sell real estate, insurance and financial services rather than physical products, and they fall under different industry regulators than a supplement or skincare seller.

Size Does Not Equal Safety or Income

A large company can still face regulatory action. In September 2026 the FTC announced a proposed $225 million order against Amway, covered in our Amway FTC settlement explainer. Revenue also does not tell you what an average participant earns. The DSA’s 2025 fact sheet divides $34.2 billion in retail sales by 5.2 million direct sellers to arrive at an average of $6,577 in retail sales per seller, which is sales volume, not profit or income.

Before joining any company, read its income disclosure using our guide to how to read an income disclosure statement and follow the steps in how to research an MLM company.

Key Takeaways

  • Rankings are voluntary, so some U.S. companies are absent.
  • Amway ($7.3B) and Herbalife ($5B) lead U.S. product companies on DSN’s 2026 list.
  • Revenue is not participant income.
  • Check regulators and income disclosures before joining.

No. Reporting is voluntary, and several privately held companies decline to share figures. A missing company is not necessarily small.
